About me

The term “About” might be a bit misleading in my opinion. I say this because the content you will find here primarily consists of general information pertinent to my practice, such as my training, clinical approach, educational background and insurances I work with. To truly understand me, one needs to engage in experiences with me. Without delay, here are some key highlights from my professional journey.

I am a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 18 years of experience in the mental health field, including the past 7 years in advanced practice. I see clients ages 12 and up.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington and went on to complete my Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University. I am certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Prior to advanced practice, I worked in Psychiatric research, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Orthopedics and Acute Inpatient Psychiatry.

My clinical approach is rooted in evidence-based medication management, and I am passionate about working collaboratively with individuals to improve their mental health and overall well-being. I provide care to adolescents and adults facing a range of psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, Personality Conflicts and more. I also incorporate principles of psychodynamic therapy into sessions when appropriate, helping patients better understand patterns and root causes that affect their emotional health. I am in-network with Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas (BCBS), United Healthcare (UHC), UMR, Carelon Behavioral Health, and Quest Behavioral Health.

What to expect during your first visit?

Whether you're meeting with me in person or through a secure telepsychiatry session, your first visit is a thoughtful and collaborative conversation. My goal is to understand who you are—not just your symptoms.

We'll begin by discussing your current concerns, personal history, and any previous treatment experiences. This comprehensive intake allows me to better understand your unique needs and begin building a personalized care plan that may include medication management, therapy, or both.

If you’re meeting virtually, I use a HIPAA-compliant platform to ensure your privacy. You can join your appointment from the comfort of your home using a smartphone, tablet, or computer.

If you’re coming to my office, you’ll find a welcoming and confidential space where we can talk openly and without judgment.

By the end of our session, you should leave with a clearer understanding of the next steps in your treatment journey—and a plan that’s tailored to your goals.
